There was once a woman who had gotten her green card and lived as a resident in the United States. She had only been there for a couple of years but when times had changed, she moved back to her home country. After some time had passed, she wanted to return with her husband and children to visit the part of their family that still lived in America. Unfortunately, though, she was denied entrance. It was too late to continue with her travel plans that year. She had to first send back the old long-expired green card and then go through a lengthy process of acquiring a visa before she could take her children to see their family there. We may not realize it, but we too could lose our right to enter in and have our share of the Tree of Life.
The warning we hear is that if anyone is caught removing the words of prophecy or their importance to the human race, we stand to lose the right to enter God´s Kingdom. If we were simply not allowed into a land of treasures or the chance to live forever, it would be sad. But, It is not as tragic as losing the right to come to the Source. God is greater than our doctrines or our interpretations can capture. Knowing Him and entering His presence is what we were ultimately created for. It will be our highest honor and He is The Treasure. But, those who belittle Him or make His words mean less, will not be allowed to meet Him. It would be the most tragic loss ever!
Dear Lord,
Strike us with fear that we could lose our chance to come to know You. Scare us so much that we do anything we need to today, to learn of You and come to love You, we pray!
