Awe is a word that needs some explanation in our day because we do not hear it very much. If you type the word into Google it gives the meaning; “a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder.” Perhaps it is difficult to capture in our day because few things in our daily lives place us in a position to experience anything so touching and so extreme. However, if and when a person does truly place themselves into a position where God can plant awareness of His presence, that person will surely know the meaning of awe, but through personal experience. Any mortal who has woken enough to sense His presence will testify to the terrible knowledge of how insufficient and unworthy vessels we are to take it all in. This life-changing experience may shake us to the core, but it will set within us the deepest desire to know and see more of Him. Pray for more awareness today, it will be the most exhilarating and fulfilling thing we ever do when we too can bow before the throne of God.
