The Nature Of Caring

“Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says Yahweh; “I will set him in safety from those who malign him.” Psalm 12:5

Let someone come near our children to harm or threaten them, and an instinct to protect rises up from within us. Something lies deep in our natures to care for those who belong to us. We do not need lessons to teach it to us. Rather it comes naturally to those who have someone to love.

We could wonder over the curiosity of this phenomenon, or, we could easily attribute it to our heritage. God looks after His children too. We come from Him. Just like those traits that we inherit from our earthly parents, we get some of ours from the Lord. While some question whether God cares, or when He will rise up to do something about all that is wrong with our world, we need not worry. Our loving Father in Heaven has been working nonstop ever since He has had someone to care about. God´s nature is to care, so we can trust Him when He says that we will not need to groan forever!
