God Is Not Far

10. I was thrown on you from my mother’s womb. You are my God since my mother bore me. 11. Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is no one to help. Psalm 22:10-11

When our eyes open in the morning and our thoughts turn to God, we arrive late to that meeting. He was already there waiting for us. When we finally stop trying to handle our situation ourselves, we turn to Him for help. We find the Lord had been dying for us to come sooner. When we cry, ache, and moan, we seek the comfort of the One who will hold us. We then see that His powerful embrace has never left us for a second. He has always been here. He is here now.

We are curious creatures. Like small children who panic in a store when they do not see their parents next to them, our Father is right here. His heart beats for us out of love. His eyes remain on us. Pray now for Divine help in seeing how near He is. Pray for the constant reassurance of our tiny hand in His. Ask that we learn to keep our conversation open with Him so that we never lose sight of the One who loves us. Let His presence stay with us. He is always here!
