The fourth angel sounded, and one third of the sun was struck, and one third of the moon, and one third of the stars; so that one third of them would be darkened, and the day wouldn’t shine for one third of it, and the night in the same way. Revelation 8:12 WEB
Their children were just babies so they were traveling home at night so that the toddlers would be able to sleep for most of the trip. But, somewhere in the wee hours of the morning, they got a flat tire. The mother stayed in the dark car with the children while the father unpacked all the luggage and dug out the spare tire. The freeway was dark except for an off-ramp streetlight and the occasional passing car. It was scary but the Lord kept the family safe and they arrived home sometime just before dawn. Have we ever thought our world was becoming a dark and scary place?
Prophecy tells us of a coming darkness where both day and night will have less light. It will be frightening if the sun and the moon actually stop giving light. But, it will be just as scary if our world plunges into a drastic lack of Light from above. If the hearts of men and women are kept far from the Light of the World, our Savior Jesus Christ, then how will we see clearly to return home to our Heavenly Father? We need the Light of Jesus to see. We need the Savior to know where and how to walk. Let us pray that prophecy is not fulfilled by us losing that which we need the most. Let us pray that we stay right in the Light of Christ, near Him and safe until we safely reach our Home with the Father!
Dear Lord,
As we meditate on Your Word, please let Your Light shine in us! Keep us in the Light as we keep close to You, we pray!
Amen
