in the middle of its street. On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Revelation 22:2 WEB
On their trip through the Redwood Forest, a family stopped the car and got out. Here and there massive trunks of the giant pine trees rose out of the forest floor and their branches meshed with the canopy above them. It was difficult to take in the size of the old trees. They tried to take photos, but it was impossible to capture. One could hug the base of the tree and it looked as if you were trying to wrap your arms around a house. Have we ever pondered what it will be like to gaze upon the Tree of Life that we hear stands in Heaven?
Revelation tells us of this great tree that is called the Tree of Life. It is said to be standing in the middle of the street. Its trunk is so impressive that it rises on both sides of the River of Life. No attempt is given as to how high or wide it stretches. But, its fruit covers every day and month of the year. The foliage, we are told is for the healing of the nations. Perhaps it would do each of us good to make it our goal to be among those who will soon gaze upon this wonder. Not everyone is interested in reaching the indescribably marvelous Home of the Father and Son. But those who are grateful for this blessing we have been given that we call life, may choose to set our hearts on visiting this Tree from which life flows, is redeemed, and forever sustained. Pray that we will be among those who will make it there!
Dear Lord,
Thank You for the miracle of life. Thank You for giving it to us, for healing us, and sustaining us always. Now place within us the strongest desire to draw so near You that we can forever contemplate Your wonders, we pray!
Amen
